இனிப்பு (7 Cup Cake)

7 CUP CAKE

Ever yummy and easy home-made sweets. 
will be one of kid's favourite sweet.

Ingredients:

Gram flour - 1 cup
Ghee           - 1 cup
Coconut      - 1 cup
Milk            - 1 cup
Sugar          - 3 cup

the above ingredients together makes 7 cup and hence the name 7 cup cake.

Method:

Take a kadai ,heat it and add all the ingredients above together and stir well . Make sure the bottom of the pan should not get sticky.

stir in low flame till all the ingredients get mix well and sugar gets dissolved in milk, gram flour and coconut gets boil well and 


கோதுமை கலகல (Wheat Crisps)

கோதுமை கலகல

கோதுமைமாவு - 1 கப்
வெல்லம் - 100 கிராம்
நெய் -10 கிராம்


தண்ணீரில் வெல்லத்தை கரைத்து நெய் விட்டு கோதுமை மாவு சேர்த்து பிசைந்து
சப்பாத்தி போல தேய்த்து கத்தியை வைத்து வெட்டி எடுத்து எண்ணெயில் பொரிதத்தெடுத்தால் சுவையான மொறுமொறு கோதுமை கலகல தயார்.

பம்பாய் சட்னி (Bombay Chutney)

Bombay Chutney
Various chutney recipes are available and this recipe is very yummy to have with dosai,idly,poori,chapathi etc.

Ingredients:-

Onion.                 -1 or 2(medium/small)
Tomato.              -1 or 2(medium/small)
Green chilli.       -1 long chopped
Red chilli.           -1
Garlic.                -4 gloves
Gram flour.       -11/2 tbspn
Fennel seeds
( sombu).           -1/4 tspn
Turmeric.          - a pinch
Salt.                    - as per taste
Oil.                      -3 tbspn
Mustard.            - for seasoning.
Curry leaves&
Coriander leaves  -for seasoning

Note:- mix gram flour, turmeric and salt together. Make a thin batter with water.
Approximately 11/2 cup of water is enough to make this mix.

Method:-


  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard, (sombu)fennel seed to it.once it starts splitting, add garlic,green chilli, red chill, and curry leaves and saute it for few seconds. Then add finely chopped onion, fry it till it turns golden brown.
  • Add finely chopped tomato and saute it well for few minutes. Add 75 ml of water. When it starts boil, add gram flour mix  to it.
  • Saute in a low flame. Mix some more water as per your consistency.
  • Mix thoroughly and continuously so that it prevent lumps formation.
Turn off the flame, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with your favorite main dish.



இட்லி பொடி (Idly Podi)

Idly podi recipe

                 Home maker's all time convenient side dish , is obviously idly podi.

Ingredients :

Toor dhal.             -100 GMs
Channa dhal.        -100 GMs
Urid dhal.              -100 GMs
Red chilli.              -8 numbers or as per spicy                                    requirements
Fried grams 
(varukadalai).       - 1 tbspn
Ground nut.           -1tbspn
Sesame                   - 1 tbspn
Asafoetida.            -1/4 tbspn
Salt.                         - as per taste
Oil.                           - 1/2 tspn to roast.

Method:-
Heat kadai and pour 1/2 tspn oil.

Then add all the dhals mentioned above, roast it till become light brown.

Transfer them to a plate and then roast chilli, fried gram,groundnut,sesame asafoetida and salt one by one. 

Once the ingredients cools down, take a jar mixer, transfer them and grind it coarsely.

Delicious idly podi ready.

கத்தரிக்காய் சட்னி (Brinjal Chutney)

Preparing side dish is really a challenge for home makers and here i share a very delicious and easy receipe using brinjal.

Ingredients:-

Brinjal ............2 (small)
Onion..............1(small)
Tomato...........1(small)
urid dhal.........2 spoon
green chilli......1 (long)
salt
oil

Note : chilli as per spicy taste

preparation:-

heat kadai and pour 2 tspn oil. 
then  fry chopped onion, brinjal and tomato along with urid dhal and green chilli . 
set them aside to cool.

then grind it with salt and tamarind (optional). 

garnish with split mustard and curry leaves.


Delicious brinjal chutney is ready to eat along with dosa, idly ,etc..

வடைகறி (Vadakari)

VADACURRY RECEIPE

vada eaters like this receipe a lot.

the ingredients are rich in protein and hence nourish your kids and family members with this healthy receipe.

Ingredients:
  • Thoor dal................ 1 cup
  • Channa dal............ 3 cup
  • Red chilli................. 3 or 4 numbers
  • Garam masala........ 1 tspn
  • Onion...................... 3 Medium
  • Ginger Garlic ......... 1 tspn (paste)
  • Tomato.................... 2 Medium
  • chilli powder ........... 1/2 tspn
  • Salt.......................... as per Taste
  • Oil...........................3 Spn
  • Curry Leaves
  • coriander
  • Dry Mango (optional)  
Method

To Grind:-
Soak thoor dal and Chana dal together for 30 minutes. then mix them with red chilli ,half salt in a jar and grind it coarsely.

Preparation:- make balls out of this mixture and flat it to fry in the pan or dosa tawa.
after toasting ,crush them into powder using mixer (coarsely).


  • Now heat kadai and pour oil in it.
  • then add  garam masala ( pattai, kaskas, krambu, elachi, brinji leaf,etc) and fry onion, ginger and garlic for few minutes.
  • now add tomato , chilli powder ( sambar powder may also used) and turmeric and fry them.
  • once oil gets separate, add the mixer prepared using dal in to it.
  • pour water  based on your  requirements.
  • then finally add salt to taste and sprinkle mango powder.
garnish with curry leaves and coriander leaves and serve hot with dosa, idly, etc.

வாழைப்பழ பிரட் டோஸ்ட் (Banana Bread Toast)

Bread toast with banana

This recipe is simply different from other bread receipe.

easy to prepare ,time consume, and kids love it.

Ingredients:

Bread ----- 7 to 8 slices(sides removed)
banana -------2(small)/1 (big)
butter------1 tspn
Milk---- 1 spoon
Sugar---- as per taste (optional)


Method:
             Take a bowl , crush the bread into pieces . Add Banana, sugar, butter, milk and  mix  all together as a dough.

Make small balls from the dough and flat it with fingers. now toast them in dosa tava with ghee and serve it with tomato sauce.

Note: Non veg eaters can mix egg along with dough and try it.
